League champs City of Bath men’s 1s sign off with another romp

City of Bath men’s 1st XI completed their remarkable season in West Hockey Men’s Division 2 East with another massive victory

City of Bath men’s 1st XI wrapped up a memorable campaign in West Hockey West Men’s Division 2 East by dishing out yet another hammering.

This time their victims were Corsham 1st XI, who were slammed 9-1 at Kingswood School on Saturday 18th April.

Harry Kellock opened the scoring in the fifth minute for the league champions – and the goals kept coming.

Kellock ended up with a brace, as did Tom Deverell.

There was a pair of goals from penalty corners by James Kelloock – and Rhys Jones and John Jackson added one apiece.

Ben Kirby Woollett weighed in with one field goal, his strike making it 5-0 in only the 23rd minute.

Corsham were 9-0 down before netting in the 65th minute.

City of Bath finished their league programme with 21 wins from 22 matches, their lone defeat coming at Evesham & Badsey 1st XI on Saturday 7th March.

The champs scored 152 goals in the league, conceded only 23, and racked up 63 points from a possible 66 to sit 11 points clear of runners-up Stroud 1st XI.
