Unbelievably, The Mousetrap is 70 years old and its place in British Theatre history is secure.

In the Theatre Royal this week, we see a new tour to celebrate all that this classic piece of theatre is.
No spoilers, for obvious reasons but it’s an enjoyable production that is firmly rooted in its era down to its very core.
Guests find themselves snowbound in a country guest house and there is a killer among them, or is there? Many accusations are thrown around and fingers wagged but the ending is the enduring secret of the show.
The cast are clearly a strong team, with Jack Elliot seamlessly fitting into the role of Christopher Wren in this performance.
Todd Carty is the bumbling major whilst Essie Barrow as Miss. Casewell is a strong figure. Joseph Reed as Detective. Sgt Trotter leads the interrogations whilst the guests argue over possible culprits.
Is it Mr. Paravicini (John Altman) Mrs. Boyle (Gwyneth Strong), or the hosts Mollie Ralston (Joelle Dyson) and Giles Ralston (Laurence Pears)?
There is significant fun created by Directors Ian Talbot and Denise Silvey which makes full use of the set and secret stairways.
There is much to watch out for, for any super sleuth and the almost full house ensured a good response.
It is very much of its time and no doubt has a loyal following amongst Agatha Christie fans, allowing an entertaining evening out.
