Local residents are being warned to expect heavy rain and possible thunderstorms with lightning later on today as the weather turns.
The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning, saying that there is an increased risk of thunderstorms and longer spells of thundery rain during the day.
Torrential rain in some areas is also possible during the course of Tuesday.
The weather is set to clear up by around 5pm, with the storms and wet weather set for the morning and into lunchtime.
Forecasters are warning the public to be careful, as summer plans could be disrupted with the weather interfering with travel arrangements and the likelihood of flooding across the region.
The weather could bring isolated thunderstorms across Bath and North East Somerset on Wednesday and for the rest of the week, with hail and gusty winds.
Rainfall is the Met Office’s main concern, with a suspected 50mm of rain set to fall over the next 24 hours.
