There will be temporary traffic lights on a popular commuter route in Bath next week while Wessex Water carries out sewer repair work, with some disruption expected.

Beginning on Monday 21st August, the work on Wellsway will affect traffic heading in and out of the city and those using the Odd Down park and ride service.

Three-way lights at the junction with Banwell Road will be controlled manually between 7am and 7pm in order to manage traffic flows, with no-parking cones in place to minimise congestion and ensure the safety of the public and Wessex Water staff.

Customers’ sewerage services will be unaffected during the course of the work, which is due to finish on Wednesday 30th August.

Wessex Water task controller Ryan Coombs said: “These repairs are necessary to maintain a reliable sewerage network in the area.

“There may be some noise disruption while this work is carried out but every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum and complete the work as quickly as possible.

“We apologise to motorists and local residents for any inconvenience caused by these essential repairs.”
