A 34-year-old man pleaded guilty to three counts of drug dealing when he appeared before Bath magistrates last week.

John Willetts, of Haydon, near Radstock, admitted that between 19th December 2023 and 10th April 2025 at Radstock he was concerned in the supply of a quantity of Zopiclone, Pregabalin and Temazepam, which are all controlled class C drugs.
Willetts also admitted that on 13th February 2025 at Radstock he offered to supply a quantity of Tapentadol, which is a controlled class A drug, and that on 10th April 2025 at Radstock he had in his possession a quantity of Zopiclone with intent to supply it.
At the hearing on Wednesday 22nd April, prosecutor Maree Doyle told the court that Willetts’ crimes came to light during a police investigation into a death in Norfolk.
They found his details on a deceased drug user’s phone, although she said there was no suggestion the death was linked to Willetts.
The court heard that Willetts used social media platforms to supply drugs. He was arrested and 19 items were seized.
Ms Doyle said there is likely to be a Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) hearing to recover the benefits obtained from his criminal activities, which would be dealt with at the Crown Court.
Defending Willetts, who is of previous good character, solicitor Ned Kemp said there was personal mitigation and asked magistrates to order a pre-sentence report.
They agreed, and Willetts was committed on unconditional bail to Bristol Crown Court for sentence on 2nd June.
