The Blue, Black & White won three competitions last season – the Gallagher Premiership, the Premiership Rugby Cup and the European Professional Club Rugby Challenge Cup – but this year they are on course for the two biggest prizes.

Bath are second in the PREM, a point behind leaders Northampton Saints, and are through to the semi-finals of the Investec Champions Cup after a 43-41 home win over the men from the cinch Stadium @ Franklins Garden’s on Friday 10th April.

At the Blue, Black & White’s press conference following that dramatic victory at The Rec, Reid looked ahead to the Euro semi-final.

At the time, Bath’s last-four opponents were not known. They will play Union Bordeaux Bègles at the 42,100-capacity Stade Atlantique Bordeaux Métropole.

Reid said: “To play those top teams is why we do it. We love rugby because we can compete, and you want to test yourselves against the best.

“We played Toulouse two, three years ago and that was a big turning point for us as a team. We learned a lot from that.

“We’ll be up for it and look forward to it. It’s so special, really special.

“Look at this journey that we’ve been on over the past three or four years – it’s amazing when you look at where we were.

“And when we keep learning every single day, we keep getting better every single day.

“That’s what’s so special about it, as well as making memories with each other and having a good time with each other, and I’m so proud to be part of this squad.

“I always think there’s a next step for us. I think the moment that you think there’s not is the moment you’re in a bit of danger. I’m so excited to see where this team can go.”
