An off-duty bouncer who stepped in to help security deal with a man causing trouble at Bath nightclub Labyrinth has been cleared by magistrates of a public order offence.

The Labyrinth nightclub in the centre of Bath
Shaquile Perkins, 24, was on trial at Bath Magistrates’ Court last Friday, 10th April, accused of using abusive, threatening or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of, or provoke, violence. It related to an incident on 1st June last year.
Mr Perkins had not been on duty that night, but was at the club at North Parade socially and had a couple of drinks.
His defence solicitor said Mr Perkins, who is of good character, had involved himself, as an off-duty police officer would do, as he was worried about his friends and colleagues.
The magistrates found him not guilty but told him he had been “immature” to get involved and hoped he’d learned a lesson.
Mr Perkins, of Crown Road in Kingswood, thanked the bench, and said he longer works in security.
