Residents in the Bathavon North area of the city are being invited to attend their upcoming local Connecting Communities Forum, to find out more about B&NES Council’s future priorities.
Connecting Communities Forums, organised and run by Bath & North East Somerset Council, bring public services and local residents together to address areas of local concern.
The next meeting of the Bathavon North Area Forum – which covers the communities of Bathford, North Stoke, Charlcombe, St Catherine, Claverton, Swainswick, Batheaston and Bathampton – will be held on Tuesday 3rd September at 6pm at Bathampton Village Hall, 29 Holcombe Lane, Bathampton BA2 6UL.
Invited are the area’s parish councils, community organisations, ward councillors, as well as local residents.
The September meeting will see an update from Councillor Romero, Leader of the Council, who will outline the new council administration’s priorities and listen to local views.
Councillor Romero said: “The council recognises that Bath and North East Somerset is a diverse area with differing needs and priorities.
“It values the local information and feedback the Forums provide as these help to shape local services.
“We are keen to engage with as many local residents as possible so these meetings are open to the public and anyone is welcome to attend.
“I am particularly looking forward to hearing views on our new priorities, including addressing the climate emergency and giving people a greater say in decision-making.
The West of England Nature Partnership (WENP) will also be on hand to talk about how their plans fit with projects of local interest.
WENP are a cross-sector partnership working to restore the natural environment in the West of England through embedding the value of nature in decision making across spatial planning, public health and economic development.
Avon & Somerset Police and Avon Fire and Rescue will also be there to give updates and take questions.
The Forums help to improve local engagement, encourage people to talk to each other and share their skills and ideas.
