Police in Bath are asking the public to help identify a man and his car as they believe he may have information about the theft and use of a credit card in Widcombe and Combe Down.

A 71-year-old woman reported her purse stolen from her handbag at Sainsbury’s supermarket in Odd Down at around 7pm on Wednesday 2nd July.

Her bank contacted her shortly afterwards to warn that there was unusual use of her credit card, but not before £200 was withdrawn from a cash machine.

Two other unsuccessful attempts to withdraw money were made at other cash machines that evening.

Anyone who recognises the man from these CCTV images, and his blue Citroen Picasso with roof bars, is asked to call Bath police on 101 quoting crime reference number 67026/14.
