Popular West Country band The Wurzels will be returning to Bath Racecourse next Friday (1st August) as part of the track’s annual Cider Racenight event.
The event, which is now in its 8th year of running, is one of the best attended fixtures at the Lansdown venue where along with 7 exciting flat horse races, racegoers are able to sing along with The Wurzels after racing to well-known classics such as ‘Drink up Thy Zider’, ‘The Combine Harvester’ and ‘I am a Cider Drinker’.
Executive Director Jo Hall said: “Our annual Cider Racenight is a fixture I really look forward to and is tremendously popular with local racegoers. We’re looking forward to a bumper crowd and an evening of west country celebrations!”
Tickets for the event start from just £10 with a special Cider Glider ticket package available which includes an entry ticket, race programme, hog roast roll and a welcome drink.

Bath Racecourse has 20 racing fixtures throughout 2014 from April to October.
Race meetings began in Bath in the early 18th century at Claverton Down, but were intermittent until the 1770s. A few meetings were held on Lansdown before a 15 year gap around the turn of the century.
Racing resumed then in July 1811, courtesy of the Blathwayt family, local landowners who owned Dyrham Park.
