A man is in custody today, Wednesday 1st May, on suspicion of attempted murder and assault following an incident in the Twerton area of Bath.

Police say they were called to Sheridan Road shortly before 9am yesterday, Tuesday 30th April, to a report that a man had been injured in a serious assault which had taken place several hours earlier.
In a statement, Avon & Somerset Police said: “Officers attended alongside the ambulance service and a man, in his 40s, was taken to hospital with injuries which are being treated as life-changing, but not life-threatening.
“A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and assault by causing actual bodily harm. He remains in police custody.”

The incident took place on Sheridan Road in Twerton
Neighbourhood Inspector Jon Nash said: “We recognise this is a very concerning incident and we are conducting a thorough investigation into what happened.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said: “We were called at 08:52hrs on Tuesday 30th April to an incident in Bath.
“We sent one critical care car and one double-crewed land ambulances and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Royal United Hospital Bath.”
