Healthwatch Bath and North East Somerset are hosting a public meeting to tell local people about plans for redevelopment at the RUH in Bath and to invite questions and discussion.

The meeting will be held between 1 and 3pm on Tuesday 28th July at the Conygre Hall, North Road, Timsbury, BA2 0JQ.

This meeting is open to everyone: refreshments will be available and there is free parking.

Steve Boxall, Head of Capital Projects at the RUH will present plans for the hospital’s redevelopment programme.

This will be followed by a question and answer session and discussion about the work of the RUH.

Steve Boxall said: “We want to hear about your experiences as service users or visitors, with a particular focus on the hospital surroundings and how they might have helped or hindered your experience of the RUH.

“It could be something that, on the face of it, appears to be trivial, but if it has affected you then we would like to know about it.

“We are also very interested in hearing what practical ideas you may have about the new buildings we are planning.

“Your contribution could help make these new environments and facilities better for patients, their families and carers.

“This public meeting is just one of a number of ways in which we are engaging with the people who use our hospital to influence our design process.”

Morgan Daly is the Manager of Healthwatch Bath and North East Somerset.  He said: “At Healthwatch we believe that every service improves if it listens to the people who use and need it.

“Hospitals are no different so we are hosting this event to enable the hospital to tell people more about their plans, and to encourage patients, carers and the public to let us have their ideas and concerns.”

To book your free place at this event, contact Healthwatch on 0117 965 4444 or at [email protected]
