The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity is hoping to trace some of the people across Bath & North East Somerset that it has helped, so they can get in touch and invite them to meet the team and visit their base.
Every day the Critical Care Team are there for those who are critically ill or injured, providing expert care and additional skills at the scene of an incident. On average they treat 1,500 people every year.
The charity offer ex-patients the chance to visit their base, and meet the team who helped them, however due to patient confidentiality they don’t know who they have helped unless the patients get in touch.
In 2016 GWAAC completed 1,735 jobs, of which 90 were in Bath and North East Somerset.
They are hoping to find out how their ex-patients are, and to share their stories. Raising awareness of what they do is crucial to GWAAC’s survival, as promoting their life-saving service helps to raise the £2.6million needed a year to stay operational.
So if you, or anyone you know has benefitted from GWAAC, email [email protected].
From blood transfusions at the side of the road to treating cardiac arrests and administering specialist drugs, GWAAC brings the skills found in a hospital to the patient when they need it the most.
They receive no day to day funding from the Government or National Lottery, and rely on the support of the public to stay operational. To find out more visit www.gwaac.com.
