The National Landlords Association (NLA) is inviting landlords in Bath and the surrounding areas to a free forum next Wednesday, 18th January, to discuss property maintenance and how to prevent the spread of mould and blackspot.

Mould is a common issue in some rented properties.
Bryony Perry, Specialist Ventilation Advisor, Envirovent, will deliver a presentation on problems associated with poor ventilation, such as condensation and mould.
The meeting will also include presentations on a variety of topics, including:
- Tax changes to buy-to-let – Guy Dawe, Independent Financial Advisor, Morgan Financial Group Ltd.
- Landlord News and legislative update – Tim Gibbs, Representative for the West Country (NLA)
Tim Gibbs, Representative for the West Country at the NLA, said: “Mould can be a serious problem for both landlords and tenants, as it can cause damage the property and, if left untreated, it can also cause health issues such as of respiratory problems and headaches.
“It’s important that landlords are aware of the measures they can take to prevent the spread of mould in rental property, and to advise their tenants accordingly, because the problem can be worsened by a failure to adequately ventilate and heat the property by the occupiers.
“Meetings such as these provide an excellent resource to keep local landlords updated and informed and we advise any landlords in the area to come along and share best practice.”
The event is free to attend and will take place at Kingsdown Pavilion, Lansdown Road, Bath, BA1 9BH and will run from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. Arrival time is 6.30pm.
Those wanting to attend should book in advance via the event website.
