Fans of the Bath Fringe festival can enjoy some of this year’s amazing acts by heading to Crest Nicholson’s Bath Riverside development.
The festival is taking place from 24th May to 9th June and a number of acts have been lined up to perform at the development on Saturday 1 June in and around the Victoria Bridge Square area.
Labelled as ‘June Bedlam @ The Scoop’, the fun, family friendly shows, gramophone music and chilled atmosphere will, it is hoped, make this part of the fringe one to remember.
Leading proceedings on the day will be Captain Id of Splott who will kick off with a carnival atmosphere show as he processes along with his cocktail boat bar playing music and sounds of the sea!
Other performances include the Half Human Theatre which features a giant robot, the Mattress Circus with ‘Heights’ which includes acrobatic clowns and a feast of comedy, the Electric Circus with ‘Mono the Monkey’, the family friendly Honk Theatre with ‘Rag and Bone’, La Brigata with Dance and Play People with ‘Murphy & McManus’.
And for those a little peckish will be able to tuck into cakes and artisan bangers served by Miss Tee from Beetlewheels nosh shop.
It is now hoped the sun will shine and that the people of Bath will turn out in force to enjoy and celebrate this eclectic mix of outstanding artists.
Susan Young, from Crest Nicholson said: “It’s very exciting that the Bath Fringe is able to bring some of its performers here to Bath Riverside and make the most of what is the city’s newest outdoor performance area.
“It’s a brilliant example of how the local community is able to make the most of a space that only a few years ago was really run down. There’s no way the Bath Fringe could have held any performances here before and we’re delighted to be able to support this fantastic event.
“We’re now looking forward to celebrating this festival and hope those who pop along enjoy the various performances taking place.”
