The best female acts from BA1 Records are to hold a charity gig in aid of International Women’s Day.
The event will raise money for the Oxfam-organised event which aims to celebrate the achievements of women across the globe.
The gig, which takes place at Widcombe Social Club on International Women’s day – Thursday 8th March (this Thursday) – will see an outstanding all-female line up, including Tallis Morris, Lily Stokes, Kelly & Alana, Laura Doggett, Shauna Hutch, Georgie Vale, Laura Conner, Rara Avis, Nostalgic Romantics, Fran & Bella, Multi-Addiction, Mojo, Lil Mammas, The Unknown and Acid Eyes & the Sweet Life.
Max Weedon, Head of BA1 Records, said: “International Women’s Day is an event of real importance, especially to our female musicians, who were keen to hold a local event to show their support.
“The very best of BA1 Records’ female music acts along with special guests Kelly & Alana will be appearing at the gig and we’re hoping for great support from everyone across Bath – women and men!
“This is the second charity gig that we will be holding in Bath in March and underlines BA1 Records’ position as a record label at the heart of the local community, championing the very best of Bath’s up and coming musicians. We are also extremely proud that one of our best female artists, Gabrielle Aplin, was this week signed by Parlophone Records home of Coldplay and the Beatles.”
The International Women’s Day gig takes place at Widcombe Social Club, Widcombe Hill, on Thursday 8th March from 5.30pm to 11.30pm. Entrance is free, but a £2 donation to Oxfam is encouraged.
