A group of Chinese students studying at City of Bath College as part of a two-week visit to Bath were treated to a special meeting with the Mayor this week.

The group of 30, most of whom were from a college of art and design in Shanghai, met with the Mayor of Bath, Councillor Bryan Chalker, at the Mayor’s Parlour at Bath Guildhall where he officially welcomed them to the city.

During their stay, the group also took time to visit the Roman Baths, as well as taking trips to Stonehenge and Bristol.

The students also spent time at City of Bath College, where they studied English language.

James Cheng, the Group Leader, said: ”The students really benefitted from the course and found the classes interesting and motivating. The group experienced life in Bath and stayed with very kind host families. It was an invaluable time for the students and they may return to Bath for further studies.”

City of Bath College has a growing international reputation as a destination for learners from abroad and regularly hosts visits like these.
