Foodies Festival, which has taken place in Bristol for many years, has announced a move to Bath this summer for the first time.

The festival is the UK’s biggest touring celebrity food and music festival series and will visit Royal Victoria Park from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th June, serving up a star-studded line-up of celebrity and award-winning local chefs, and chart-topping music stars including Blue, Example and the Symphonic Ibiza Orchestra with live vocals and DJ.
Known as Gastro-Glastonbury, the three-day event will feature live cooking demonstrations from TV celebrities and chefs drawn from the ranks of MasterChef, the Great British Bake Off and the Great British Menu.
Early announcements include Great British Bake Off 2023 winner Matty Edgell; Great British Menu star and Chef-Patron Josh Eggleton from the Michelin-recommended The Pony Chew Valley; MasterChef champion Dhruv Baker; MasterChef: The Professionals 2023 finalists Tommy Thorn and Kasae Fraser; ITV’s This Morning wine experts Joe Wadsack and Tom Surgey; and TV chef, author and cookery school owner Nigel Brown.
Showcasing the best of Bath and beyond, many of the region’s most highly acclaimed Michelin and multi-award-winning chefs will also appear, including Chris Cleghorn from Michelin-starred The Olive Tree; James Harris of Bib Gourmand-awarded Beckford Bottle Shop; Henry Scott ftp, Michelin-listed Henry’s Restaurant; Jauca Catalin of the 3AA Rosette awarded Bath Priory; and Darren Stephens from 2AA Rosette awarded Homewood Hotel.
Throughout the three-day weekend, visitors will enjoy a schedule of TV cooking show champions and award-winning chefs in the interactive live theatres.
In the Chef’s Theatre, experts will create their signature dishes and share new tips and tricks. There will also be a Cake & Desserts Theatre, Kids Cookery School and Drinks Theatre.
Visitors can browse the latest food trends in the Shopping Village, meet local producers in the Artisan Market and taste exotic and unusual new dishes in the Feasting Tent featuring street food and delicacies from around the globe.
Other attractions include a silent disco, chilli eating competitions, choirs, children’s activities and family-friendly areas. Throughout the weekend, the Music Stage will present chart-topping artists, top tribute acts, covers bands and local bands.
Councillor Paul Roper, Bath & North East Somerset Council cabinet member for Economic and Cultural Sustainable Development, said: “We are delighted that Foodies Festival has chosen to bring this fantastic event to Bath.
“Our experienced events team will be working with the organisers and with residents to make sure this headline event is a success for everyone involved.”
We asked the organisers why the festival had moved from Bristol to Bath. A spokesperson said: “We are a touring festival and move around the UK with the event. We are visiting three new regions this year, including Bath.”
For the fifth year running, the festival is supporting Musicians Against Homelessness with tickets helping to raise money for UK-wide homelessness charity Crisis.
