Hidden away just off the A4 as you enter into Bath you will find the idyllic little Boathouse Pub that looks like its been dropped there out of an American fairytale. We had passed The Boathouse Pub numerous times and had always said we had to try it. So on a beautiful March afternoon we did.
The Boathouse offers spectacular views of the River Avon especially if you are lucky enough to sit on there delightful decking, perfectly furnished with sofas, tables and chairs. The sun was out and shining and I couldn’t help but think how very lucky we are to be a stones throw away from such a beautiful place. We live in this perfectly poised city that has everything to offer and it was only a five-minute trip to be away from the hustle and bustle and sat in the sun in the gorgeous countryside.
The Boathouse offers a range of foods, small snacks, sharing boards or larger plates. What we really felt like was the Steak and Sea Salt Burger that came served with Chips on a plank of wood that just made it seem that extra bit special. We sat and soaked up the sun whilst sipping our refreshing Victorian Lemonades and eating our burgers, it was as if we had stepped out of our busy lives and into an alternate reality. The Boathouse makes you feel at home; the staff are attentive and helpful and sincerely want you to enjoy yourselves.
Every now and then you see boats pass you by and it all adds to the enjoyment of the seamless setting. The road may only be a few meters away but The Boathouse makes you forget as if it even exists.
The Boathouse offers rooms with a balcony if you ever wish to stay just outside of the city and I couldn’t help but mention to my friend how much I wanted to stay here even though I lived in Bath, the architecture just makes you fall in love with the place. We saw a couple upon their balcony reading and drinking coffee, they looked as if they were in their element. The relaxed atmosphere makes the experience impossible not to enjoy, I would not hesitate to jump in the car and visit the quiet of The Boathouse in Bath especially with the perfect weather we are having at the moment, the terrace is one not to miss. And I’m pretty sure even in the winter the open fires I spotted are a joy to sit by, hide out and enjoy drinks with friends.
The Boathouse Bath has become my happy place and I believe it to be the perfect setting for anything you have in mind, welcoming of dogs and children, I cant think of anybody who wouldn’t enjoy this picturesque place.
