PETA Enters Stadium Rename Comp

When Bath City Football Club announced that it would draw a new name for its stadium from a hat filled with suggestions, the animal defenders at PETA couldn’t resist.

The group plunked down the required £50 entry fee and have submitted the name “Have the Balls to Fix Your Dog“. PETA’s point? That Bath and the rest of the UK are teeming with unwanted cats and dogs – who are languishing in animal shelters or living on the streets – and that naming the stadium “Have the Balls to Fix Your Dog” will remind residents that the only way to get a handle on the homeless dog and cat crisis is for everyone to have their animal companions spayed or neutered. PETA also encourages all prospective animal guardians always to adopt and never buy from a breeder or pet shop.

“By naming the hometown team’s stadium ‘Have the Balls to Fix Your Dog,’ no one could ignore this lifesaving message“, says PETA’s Yvonne Taylor. “And if residents and football fans across the UK heed the message, they could score a rousing victory over the misery of dog and cat homelessness.”
