A woman who was killed at the weekend on the A46 north of Bath in a fatal collision has been named by police.
She has been named as Yasmin Richards, who was 21. It’s believed that she worked at one of Bath’s well known hairdressers.
Emergency services received calls to the incident involving a Ford KA and Range Rover just after 9.30am on Saturday, with police, fire and ambulance crews rushing to the scene.
The road was immediately closed from the Batheaston roundabout and bottom of Gloucester Road, towards the stretch of road where the crash happened between Nimlet and the A420 Cold Ashton roundabout.
The driver of the Ford Ka, Yasmin, was seriously injured and died at the scene.
Avon and Somerset Police’s Collision Investigation Unit kept the road closed until around 3pm while they investigated the incident.
A 150 yard stretch of the road was cleared by the Highways Agency of the wreckage of the cars and an oil spillage.
Yasmin’s family released a short statement. They said: “Yasmin our beautiful inspirational girl. Absolutely gorgeous inside and out – you are our world.”
Anyone with any information on this collision is asked to contact the police on 101.
