Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for help to trace three people who attacked and robbed a 24-year-old man in Bath on Friday afternoon.

It happened at around 5.20pm on Friday 15th August as the man walked along the alleyway leading from the bottom of Wells Road, next to the Great Western Wine Warehouse, onto the Lower Bristol Road.

In the tunnel under the railway line he passed two young men and a woman.

One man asked him the time, then they chased him down the alley. Both men punched him while the woman stood in front of him to prevent him running away.

They stole his white iPhone 4S and then ran up the alleyway towards the Wells Road.

The victim was left shaken and bruised but not seriously hurt.

The first man was white, about 20 years old, of slim build and around 5ft 5ins tall. He had bleached blond hair, was clean shaven and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a light blue hoody with a logo on the front.

The second man was also white and around 20 years old. He was of heavier build, 5ft 7ins tall with blond hair, long sideburns and stubble on his face. He was wearing dark clothing.

The woman was white with a tanned complexion, heavily made-up with red lipstick. She was aged around 20, 5ft 2ins tall and of slim build. She had short curly brown hair with lighter highlights. She was wearing a light T-shirt with a pattern on the front.

Anyone who saw the robbery, or the three people running away from the area, is asked to call Bath CID on 101 quoting crime reference number 84074/14.
