The carriageway over the newly waterproofed Durley Lane bridge on the A4 Keynsham bypass is to be resurfaced by B&NES Council today (Friday 15th May).
This will be undertaken on the closed eastbound side whilst traffic uses the current contraflow so impact on motorists will not change from what it has been for last two weeks.
The bypass will then be closed overnight, from 9pm on Saturday 16th May, to 7am Sunday 17th May, whilst the contraflow used for waterproofing works is removed and Lane 2 closures are put in place.
The closure will also be used to inspect the road surface along the length of the bypass and any repairs will be carried out where possible during this time.
There will be a diversion through Keynsham.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) at either end of the bypass (Hicks Gate and Broadmead roundabouts) will provide information about the works.
All works will be carried out on the A4 and access will be maintained for Durley Lane which passes underneath the bypass.
The major bridgeworks will be completed by this weekend and will be followed by the associated safety barrier works under lane closures.
This is expected to be completed over the next four weeks.
