Bath City Women will go into their Somerset Women’s Junior Cup final on the back of a morale-boosting 1-1 draw with Whitchurch Ladies.

Bath City Women will be hoping for a repeat of the 2024-25 result when they face Weston-super-Mare Women in the Somerset Women’s Junior Cup final on Thursday 30th April. The Romans will face Weston-super-Mare Women at the Poplar Insulation Stadium, home of Brislington FC, in the showpiece on Thursday 30th April (7.30pm) looking to retain the trophy that they won last year against the same opponents.
City are in mid-table in Shield Services Group South West Regional Women’s League Division One North, whereas Weston lie second in the smaller Division One South where they have lost only once in 10 matches.
Bath’s league stalemate away to Whitchurch on Sunday 26th April represented a great recovery, seeing as the Bristol side slammed the Romans 5-0 at the Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park in Division One North on Wednesday 22nd April.
In the return at South Bristol Sports Centre, Maddy Brown handed City a first-half lead but the hosts equalised through Hannah Gillett’s penalty midway through the second period.
After the cup final, the Romans will have a short turnaround as they will be back on league duty on Sunday 3rd May when they receive Stockwood Wanderers Women at the Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park (2pm).
The clash with Stockwood will be Bath’s final home game of the campaign, although three away fixtures – versus Paulton Rovers Ladies, Royal Wootton Bassett Town Ladies and Downend Flyers – remain.
Bath City Women Development drew 3-3 with visiting Nailsea United Women at Peasedown St John Recreation Ground in Somerset County Women’s League Division One on 26th April.
Next up for the young Romans will be a long trip to St Mary’s Field on 3rd May to face Bridport Women in another league match (2pm).
That will be City’s last game for three weeks, as they will not be in action again until they entertain Yeovil-based Pen Mill Ladies on Sunday 24th May.
Odd Down Women completed their title-winning season in Somerset County Women’s League Division Two by losing 3-2 at Portishead Town Ladies A on 26th April.
The defeat was only the Down’s second of the league campaign. They won 13 of their 16 matches and had a goal difference of 53.
The result lifted Posset into second place in the table – for a few days at least.
The North Somerset side and third-placed Ashton Women have also completed their fixtures and are both nine points behind Odd Down.
However, fourth-placed Ilminster Town Ladies still have two games remaining and are only a point behind Portishead and Ashton but with a far better goal difference.
So the Blues are the likely runners-up. And two wins from their final two outings will leave them four points behind the champs.
Portishead took a 25th-minute lead against Odd Down courtesy of Emily Edwards.
Falisha Shahbaz equalised but Millie Pearce restored the hosts’ advantage shortly before the break.
Erin Cahoon levelled in the second half but Edwards pounced to win the game for Posset.
Daisy Laing was the Down’s player of the match.
The night before the game, Odd Down Women’s 2025-26 star performers were honoured at the club’s end-of-season awards ceremony at the Lew Hill Memorial Ground clubhouse.
Kira Macer (women’s supporters’ player of the season), Cahoon (women’s golden boot), Jessica Bailey (women’s manager’s player of the season) and Alice Stott (women’s player of the season) received their trophies.
