Bath Rugby Ladies played their first home fixture of the season, returning with a new set-up to their traditional home at Lambridge to face Hove Ladies on Sunday.
The home side faced stiff opposition from a powerful visiting pack, and the first half produced a stand-off between the sides with both sides coming close to the opposition line but neither side successfully scoring.
Minutes into the second half, centre Sarah Holloway kicked through the defensive line, chasing through to touch down the try which she then converted.
Bath Ladies held on to their narrow lead against a series of attacking phases from the visiting team, and put together some strong attacking endeavours of their own.
In the final moments of the game and with the home side down to 14 players, Hove mounted a final attack on the Bath line, eventually touching down on the edge of the post protector for a try which was converted with the final kick of the game to bring the scores level.
A heavy blow for the home side, but the squad will continue to build on the wide variety of strengths they have shown over the last few matches and continue to integrate a large number of new players into the side.
Bath Rugby Ladies next match is away against Richmond II on Sunday 7th October.
