Services Halted After Person Hit By Train Near Bath

Early morning services between Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa station were cancelled this morning after a person was hit by a train in the Keynsham area.

The first train of the morning to London Paddington at 5.41am was cancelled, as well as eleven further services departing Bath Spa station.

These included 6.03am to Portsmouth Harbour, 6.09am to Glasgow Central, 6.13am to London Paddington, 6.28am to Cardiff Central, 6.48am to London Paddington, 6.56am to Swansea, 7.06am to Westbury, 7.08am to Gloucester and the 7.13am to London Paddington.

The line was reopened by Network Rail at around 7.25am, with delays of 20-30 minutes being seen on later services from Bristol Temple Meads.

Tickets from the earlier cancelled trains were being accepted on First Bus services.

The lines are now open around Bristol following a fatality. Still residual delays of around 20-30 minutes.
