Avon and Somerset Police in Bath are appealing for information about an assault on The Paragon in which a 22-year-old man was knocked unconscious and suffered a broken jaw.

He had left Club XL and was walking alone up the steps from Walcot Street to The Paragon at around 1am on Saturday 1st November.

Near the top of the steps he walked past a group of men and women who were having an argument.

It was then, unprovoked, that he was punched and knocked to the ground.

The man, from Harlow in Essex, was in Bath visiting friends and had been out with them in the city centre.

He went to hospital the following day and needed surgery to repair his jaw.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw him around the time he was assaulted to call them on 101, quoting reference number 115247/14.

The victim is white, 6ft tall, with short brown hair and a beard. He was wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt and Halloween make-up – his face was white with blood around the mouth and black eyes.
