A new promotional film has been produced which showcases the very best of the Peasedown Party in the Park summer festival.

Launched at a special event in the village on Friday night, volunteers from the all-day spectacular were invited along to watch the premier.

Now in its 7th year, and with more than 1,000 new people visiting their website each month from across the UK, the festival teamed up with Out of the Can Productions to put the three-minute production together.

Based in Radstock, the production firm is owned and managed by Ben Curd.

Festival Chairman Nathan Hartley said: “We are extremely grateful to Ben for putting this film together. He has done a fantastic job, and thanks to him people can now get the festival feeling all year round.

“Previously, he had already worked on a number of short films, music videos for upcoming stars and not to mention his excellently produced promotional film for local drama group Exit Stage Left.”

During the evening, volunteers were also presented with certificates and treated to a delicious buffet supper – all in recognition for their efforts.

Over 50 volunteers helped with collecting money at entrance gates, clearing litter, setting up stalls, handing out programmes, and marshalling traffic in June at the popular event on Beacon Field.

Last week’s event also celebrated six years since the Party in the Park team was formed, and so organisers took the opportunity to announce the total amount raised from six festivals, and four Christmas in the Parks, which now stands at a staggering £57,104.

An achievement never seen before by a community group in Peasedown St John in a short space of time.

All of the funds have been reinvested back into the community through funding events, festivals and the Party in the Park Grant Fund.

Festival Secretary Cat Savage is the newest member of the team.

She said: “The future is looking extremely bright for Party in the Park – which is all thanks to the support we receive from residents. Without them, the team wouldn’t have achieved so much.

“I do hope as many people as possible will visit our website to look at the film. You may even spot yourself if you watch carefully.”

The new promotional film can be seen online at www.peasedownpartyinthepark.org.uk.

Organisers have also announced the dates for these two upcoming events:

  • Christmas in the Park 2014; Saturday 20th December, 6.30 pm, Beacon Hall, Peasedown St John
  • Party in the Park 2015; Saturday 13th June, 12 noon – 7 pm, Beacon Field, Peasedown St John.
