A 44-year-old man arrested at his Bath home last November on suspicion of the murder of Melanie Hall in 1996 has been bailed once again by police.
The man was arrested at his home in November as part of the ongoing investigation into the death of Melanie Hall, who was killed after disappearing in Bath back in 1996.
He was questioned for two days at a police station in Bristol after his arrest, and was released pending further enquiries by officers.
He was bailed until December, then re-bailed until April. He’s now on bail again until June while enquires continue.
Police detectives searched a property in Roundhill Park in Whiteway after his arrest, which is believed to be where the man used to live.
Miss Hall’s parents Steve and Pat have been kept updated with the developments.
Melanie Hall worked at the RUH here in Bath and disappeared after a night out at Cadillacs night club.
Workmen discovered her remains in October 2009 at the side of a motorway near Thornbury, Gloucestershire.
She was identified as the victim two days later.
Detectives investigating the murder of Melanie last month issued a new appeal for information about a second car they believe may be important to their inquiry.
In October 2013, murder detectives asked for information about another white VW Golf GTi, a soft-top Cabriolet that they had recovered.
