Man Charged After Early Morning Burglary In Bath

A man appeared in court yesterday after a woman arrived at work in the centre of Bath on Saturday and disturbed a burglar in a shop.

The woman called Avon and Somerset Police at 7.30am on Saturday 2nd August to report finding a man inside when she opened up a shop on Westgate Street.

The man made off he saw her and she found cash was missing from the store.

A 41-year-old man was arrested in nearby Great Stanhope Street at 7.45am that day.

The suspect was charged with burglary and appeared before Bath Magistrates yesterday, Monday 4th August.
