More than 50 carers from across the area took part in Britain’s Best Breakfast at the Carers’ Centre AGM, Fry’s Conference Centre, Keynsham on 11th October.

The Best Breakfast is a national initiative that aims to raise funds and awareness for unpaid carers.

The Annual General Meeting also celebrated the work of the Centre in supporting more than 3500 carers in the last year.

Chief Executive, Sonia Hutchison, said: “Breakfast can be one of the most stressful times of day for carers. Many miss this important meal, focussing instead on looking after the person they care for.

“We aim to provide support for all carers in Bath & North East Somerset to give them a break from their caring role.”

The increasing demands of caring, particularly with a growing elderly population, has seen a swift rise in the number of local carers.

Over the next year the Carers’ Centre is looking to raise additional funds to meet this growing need.
