Children living in Wellow and the surrounding area had a chance to become champions last week at a special summer holiday club.

Organised Andrew Stockinger, a five-day Champions Challenge event was held at St Julian’s Primary School that included include games, activities and competitions.

Andy is the Football in the Community Coach for the St J’s Group – the Anglican churches in Wellow, Peasedown, Foxcote and Shoscombe.

Andy said: “Around the St J’s Group we’ve put on a range of summer activities for children – all of which have been designed to be lots of fun, full of adventure and provide youngsters with opportunities to make new friends.”

The Champions Challenge Holiday Club is in addition to the children’s work the St J’s Group is already doing across the local community.

Andy added: “Our summer clubs are in addition to the work we are also doing in local primary schools to educate and enthuse children with our after-school clubs and regular assemblies.”

St Julian’s Church is part of the ‘St J’s Group’ Anglican benefice, which covers the parish churches of St John’s Peasedown, St Julian’s Wellow, St James’ Foxcote and St Julian’s Shoscombe and is named after our three patron saints.
