RUH’s Central Delivery Suite changes name to the Bath Birthing Centre

The Central Delivery Suite at the Royal United Hospital in Bath has been re-born, changing its name to the Bath Birthing Centre, though happily still with the same staff, range of services, and same location.

Di Dorrington, Maternity Matron at the RUH explained: “Changing the name may seem a trivial thing, but mothers tell us the use of positive language can make a big difference to how they feel.

“We want to promote the positivity of birth and help make new mothers feel more comfortable and confident.

“Of course, each experience is different but regardless of the level of obstetric and midwifery support required for each mother and baby, our message is that babies are ‘born’, not ‘delivered’.”
