Local residents are being warned by NHS England that pharmacies across the Bath area will have restricted opening hours over the Christmas period.
Offering advice on common illness and the best medicines to treat them, residents are advised to make sure you know which local pharmacies are open.
While some pharmacies are directed by NHS England to open on Christmas Day, others may open voluntarily, and patients are advised to check if their intended pharmacy is open before travelling.
To find details of the nearest pharmacy opening hours over the Christmas period, visit the NHS England South website.
If you or someone you care for requires medicines regularly, don’t forget to make sure you order and collect repeat prescriptions in good time to ensure you have enough medicine to cover the festive period.
People can order and renew prescriptions through the GP Online Service provided by NHS England.
GP surgeries will also have reduced opening hours over Christmas and New Year, and it’s recommend you check their opening hours directly.
For minor injuries and illnesses, visit your nearest walk-in centre or minor injuries unit (MIU).
