Local residents across the Bath area are in for a treat this Christmas with the opening of a brand new bar, The Canon, on Saturday 17th December.

Located on Barton Street, the opening follows a £200,000 investment and the complete overhaul of the site formerly occupied by Molloys.

The opening of the bar has created ten new jobs for the local area, with five more expected in the New Year.

Originally built and used as a church, the site has been transformed, making way for a clean and refreshed space, offering customers an engaging setting to relax, dine and be entertained.

With a relaxed atmosphere during the daytime for customers to watch sports or enjoy a great value meal, the bar will transform into a stylish hangout in the evenings and at the weekend.

The opening of the site will see the introduction of free super-fast Wi-Fi, a printing station and charging points for mobile phones, tablets and laptops so that guests can make the most of the refined space when working away from home, university or the office.

Pool tables and a selection of retro games will be available to help customers wind down after a busy day.

Customers with a cause to celebrate will be able to raise a glass whatever day of the week as the Canon boasts an array of offers and events, including Double Points on Mondays, allowing guests to make the most of their MORE loyalty cards.

Clash of the Cans will see all canned cocktails, canned craft beer and canned cider available for £3 from 5pm on Tuesdays and customers can purchase wings for 25p from 5pm onwards on Wing Wednesdays.

Thursdays will see the floor open for Open Mic Nights with £3 Craft and Cocktails also on offer throughout the evening. Saturday will see The Canon become the place to be to view sport, and to wind down the weekend with a quiz night.

Steve Kenward, General Manager at The Canon said: “We’re really excited to open the doors of the brand new bar and hear what everyone thinks of the new-look site.

“With a special focus on our food and drink menu, we hope that our customers will enjoy everything from the vegetarian options on our Greenhouse section to our eight taps of craft beer and ciders that will be on rotation regularly.”

“What’s more, our boosted sports offering makes us the best place in Bath to come and enjoy the fixtures.

“This, along with the range of offers and events scheduled throughout the week, allows us to cater to everyone.

“So whether you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a pint during a game, or simply enjoy a nice meal with family and friends, we look forward to welcoming everyone through our doors soon!”
