A wide variety of events and activities and fun for all the family are being planned by the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath throughout December and January.

The events pencilled in for December include free drop-in activities for children aged three to 11. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Other events and activities include:

  • An Artful Christmas – get arty this Christmas and use simple techniques to craft things to make your festive season special. Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 December from 2pm-3.30pm;
  • Art Store Tours – explore the parts of the Gallery other people don’t reach. Free, but book in advance on 01225 477232. Wednesday, 17 December and 21 January, all 12 noon-12.45pm;
  • Christmas Specials – get in the festive spirit by joining one of the Gallery’s special free candlelit tours, starting at 5.30pm and 6.15pm each evening on Wednesday 3 December, Friday 5 December, Wednesday 10 December and Friday 12 December. No booking is required, just turn up. Each tour will cover highlights from the collection and last around 30 minutes.
  • Meet the Artists – join Somerset artists Edwina Bridgeman and David Brayne for tours of their sculpture and painting exhibitions on Thursday 8 January, 12 noon-12.45pm (David) and 1pm-1.45pm (Edwina). The first is free to all, the second is free to exhibition ticket-holders.

The Victoria Art Gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm and on Sunday from 1.30pm to 5pm.

It is closed on Mondays and Bank Holidays.
