The Little Bambinos Nursery is based at the Victoria Hotel on Millmead Road.
The inspector, whose report was published this week following her visit at the end of March, has assessed the nursery as Good in all four categories – quality of education, leadership and management, children’s personal development and behaviour and attitudes.
The report says that children arrive happy and eager to start their busy day. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and children are clearly happy to see them.
It continues: “Children are confident and staff support children’s independence in finding resources and deciding where they would like to play. Some children are eager to start playing whereas others enjoy sitting with staff to have their breakfast.
“Children build strong attachments with all of the staff, who are very responsive to children’s needs and interests.
“Staff are knowledgeable and they have a good understanding of children’s development and learning needs.”
Leaders and staff are said to have a clear vision for the nursery and plan their curriculum around children’s interests to engage them.
Leaders place a high focus on developing the skills and knowledge of their team to meet children’s specific needs, and partnerships with parents are said to be effective and well-established.
The inspector notes that children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive good support.
The report highlights that children benefit from lots of opportunities to have fresh air and exercise. They enjoy playing outside in the garden where staff allow them to explore freely.
The nursery is said to have an “open and positive culture around safeguarding that puts children’s interests first”.
Little Bambinos opened in 2022 and there are currently 36 children on the roll.
