Search and rescue team shores up building after collision involving car

The driver of a car that collided with a building in Bath this morning was unhurt, Avon and Somerset Police have said.

Crews from Bath’s fire station were called to reports of the collision on Belvedere at 10.21am on Wednesday 6th July.

Due to the nature of the incident, support was requested from Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) firefighters to secure the building before the removal of the car.

USAR firefighters from Hicks Gate in Keynsham attended the scene in two USAR vehicles and a fire engine.

They used timber shoring to make the building safe and allowed the safe removal of the car.

The scene was then handed over to the police.

In a separate incident, fire crews were called to Twinhoe Lane at 1.48pm this afternoon following a collision involving a heavy goods vehicle into the side of a property.
