The University of Bath RAG have raised a massive £34,000 for their charity partners this year, with £8,700 donated to CLIC Sargent, the cancer support charity for children, young people and their families.
The University have organised a fantastic series of events across the academic year to support their chosen charities; CLIC Sargent, Bath Rugby Foundation, Forever Friends Appeal and Trauma Recovery Centre.
University students have been fundraising with events such as a Hitchhike to Edinburgh, a Zombie Apocalypse, a team in the Bath Half of 100 runners and a Blind Date event.
Over 2500 students got involved in these events throughout the year, helping to raise the funds for the Big Four.
Louisa Peters, Volunteer Support Coordinator at University of Bath Students’ Union, said: “I am always so impressed with the students involved with RAG and how much time and effort they devote to supporting their chosen charities.”
The amount they have raised this year for charities such as CLIC Sargent is incredible and everyone at Bath Student’s Union is very proud of them.
Tori Williams, Senior Fundraising Engagement Manager at CLIC Sargent, said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to Bath RAG and everyone who has taken part and donated over the past year.
“These incredible efforts will make a real difference to how CLIC Sargent can help young cancer patients thrive, not just survive.”
