Local residents can enjoy a range of fun family activities springing up at a variety of Bath’s museums this Easter.

The Roman Baths, Fashion Museum and Victoria Art Gallery are all putting on a number of events between Tuesday 8th April and Wednesday 16th April.

At the Fashion Museum, children can use paper cutting techniques to create simple Georgian style Easter Cards with the “All Cut Up” sessions which run on Tuesday 8th April (10.30am-12.30pm & 1.30pm-3.30pm).

The Roman Baths is holding the family drop-in sessions “Curious Coins” on Monday 14th April (10am-1pm & 2pm-4pm) – where people can investigate Roman coins and create a coin to take home. This event is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Everyone can also enjoy “Hands on Archaeology” with fascinating finds from the Roman Baths collection by dropping in any time between 3pm & 4pm on Wednesday 16th April.

Admission to Bath & North East Somerset Council’s family drop-in events at the Roman Baths and Fashion Museum is free to local residents on production of a Discovery Card. Normal entry prices apply to everyone else.

At the Victoria Art Gallery “Go Quackers” is a fun art session for ages 3-5 and runs on Thursday 10th April (10.30am-11.30am & 2pm-3pm) – with squash and biscuits included.

Children can discover the Gallery’s special painting of geese and make a duckling out of card and an Easter card.

Also at the Gallery is “Down on the Farm” for ages 6-11 on Friday 11th April: 10.30am-12noon & 1.30pm-3pm.

Youngsters can explore the farmyard painting and use watercolour pencils to create an animal picture, as well as making a mini model farm.

All the Easter events at the Victoria Art Gallery cost £4 per child and must be booked in advance on 01225 477233. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Residents of Bath and North East Somerset can apply for a Discovery Card by taking along two forms of ID to the following Council buildings: the Roman Baths; Riverside in Keynsham; The Hollies in Midsomer Norton and the One Stop Shop on Manvers Street in Bath.
