Avon and Somerset Police are appealing to drivers working in the haulage industry to help with their ongoing investigation into a fatal collision on the A4 near Bath.

Drivers are being asked to check any footage recorded on cameras fitted to the front of the vehicles, if they were travelling on the A4 Keynsham by-pass at around 8.30-9am on Thursday 30th April.

The collision involved a motorcyclist and a tractor which was towing a trailer.

The 48-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene but he died shortly afterwards.

Investigating officer PC Sharon Little from the force’s collision investigation unit, said: “We’re appealing to drivers, especially those working in the haulage industry, to check footage recorded on any cameras fitted to their vehicles, if they were using the A4 around the time the fatal collision happened.

“Any footage which shows the collision, the vehicles involved, or just before the collision happened, would be invaluable to our investigation.”

If you are able to assist, you are asked to contact the collision investigation unit on the force number 101, quoting the reference CI-93/15
