A warrant was issued by Bath magistrates yesterday, Wednesday 15th April, for a 35-year-old woman who failed to turn up in court to be sentenced for causing serious injury by driving whilst disqualified.

Cara Henderson-Lyons, of Woodhouse Road in Twerton, had pleaded guilty to the offence at a court hearing on 10th February and had been advised by the magistrates that she could be facing a custodial sentence for the offence, which dates back to 30th October 2023.

Henderson-Lyons had been driving a blue Nissan Qashqai when she caused serious injury to Briony Smith in Herbert Road in Oldfield Park.

The court heard yesterday that Henderson-Lyons had failed to attend an appointment with the Probation Service for an all-options pre-sentence report to be prepared in advance of the sentencing hearing.

Magistrates agreed to the Crown Prosecution Service’s request for a warrant not backed by bail.
