Bath magistrates have banned a thief from a Co-op store in the city after he admitted nine counts of shoplifting.

The Co-op on Julian Road in Bath
Thomas Latchem, 40, of Phoenix House at Harley Street, Lansdown, appeared in custody on Wednesday 15th April.
The court heard that he had targeted the nearby Co-op at Burlington Place on Julian Road on various dates in February and early March.
Items he stole, which were of a value unknown, included energy drinks, chocolate brownies, bacon, sandwiches, ready meals and doughnuts.
Latchem also admitted a charge of failing to answer to court bail.
The 40-year-old, who is on benefits, told the court he had shoplifted as he had no money and no family and friends to help him. He refused an offer to see the duty solicitor and also turned down a meeting with a Probation Service officer.
The court ordered an exclusion requirement banning Latchem from entering the Co-op at Burlington Place for six months.
He was ordered to pay the retailer £50 compensation, but magistrates made no order for prosecution costs or court surcharge.
