Man Arrested Following Thefts From Local Sports Clubs

A man wanted for questioning about a number of thefts from sports clubs and school changing rooms in Bath and across the Avon and Somerset area has been arrested by police.

Alan Philip, 62, who also uses the name Anthony Tye, was arrested on 14th January in Brighton by Sussex police on suspicion of an identical offence.

He has been charged with stealing a bag of personal belongings from visiting rugby players at Hove recreation Ground on Sunday 11th January.

He has also been charged with burglary with intent to steal at Monmouth School sports pavilion on 19th June, 2014.

He is currently on remand at HMP Lewes where he has been interviewed by Avon and Somerset detectives.

He has been charged to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on 2nd February.

He is due for sentencing at Lewes Crown Court on 13th February.
