The A36 Lower Bristol Road in Bath has been reopened following a collision in the early hours of this morning in which a woman was killed, though investigations are still continuing.
At just before 3am, a car collided with a warehouse building on the Lower Bristol Road, near the First Bus depot, at the junction of Rackfield Place and close to Twerton Park.
Due to the extent of the damage to the vehicle, the road remained closed for several hours while the scene was fully examined and then cleared.
Avon and Somerset Police issued the following statement this afternoon: “We know the closure caused disruption to traffic and the bus network and we’d like to thank the public for their patience while we carried out our examination of the scene and cleared the road.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim and our enquiries into the circumstances of this collision will continue.”
If you have information on the incident and haven’t yet spoken with the police, call 101 and give the call handler the log number 70 of 12th January.
