The Lewis House offices of Bath & North East Somerset Council on Manvers Street in Bath were evacuated earlier this afternoon following reports of a suspicious package in the building.
Staff at the former police station opposite, now occupied by the University of Bath, were told to move away from the Manvers Street side of the building due to the threat.
It’s believed the Council’s One Stop Shop next door was also evacuated, and cordon tape was put up around the scene.
Police have now confirmed the evacuation was a false alarm.
The One Stop Shop houses the Avon and Somerset Police city centre enquiry desk.
