Avon and Somerset Police are renewing their appeal in Bath for information from the public about how a man came by serious injuries which have left him stable in hospital.

The man became ill just after 8am on Tuesday 12th September and was taken to the Royal United Hospital by ambulance. Officers were later made aware that medical staff believed the man had sustained a head injury.

He has since been transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

Officers trying to trace the man’s movements to find out how he came by his injury have now released a CCTV image of him.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen him since Sunday afternoon, 10th September. He is described as aged about 50, white and bald. He was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans and may have appeared drunk.

Officers have spoken to a number of witnesses who saw the man in the Riverside Gardens area at about 7.30am on Tuesday, and he is believed to have been in Avon Street earlier in the day.

The man’s friends have told police that he may have been involved in an altercation near some benches in the Riverside coach park within the past few days. It’s understood a group of men were drinking there and became rowdy, smashing bottles.

Police are keeping an open mind as to whether any offences have taken place.

Anyone who has any information which could help is asked to get in touch through the police website, www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact, or by calling 101, quoting reference 5217208676.
