A 56-year-old man has been charged by Avon and Somerset Police in connection with four bomb hoaxes, including one at Bath bus station on Wednesday.

Peter Osbourne, of no fixed address, has been charged with four counts of making a bomb hoax.

The charges relate to hoax calls made on Wednesday (24th May) about Bath bus station and the Bristol Royal Infirmary, as well as further hoaxes referring to Weymouth sea front in Dorset and Wiltshire Police Headquarters.

He’s due to appear at Bath Magistrates’ Court this morning (26th May). The charge follows a cross-border investigation with Gloucestershire Police.

Bath bus station on Dorchester Street was evacuated on Wednesday afternoon, and a number of nearby roads were closed, after a bag was left unattended at the site.
