The Met Office is warning residents across South West England that more heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected tomorrow (Sunday) and will continue through to Monday afternoon.

Further areas of heavy rain will spread north-eastward throughout Sunday and into Monday, with some local torrential downpours and thunder possible.

This could result in some disruption, with sudden flooding of roads, transport routes, homes and businesses possible.

The Met Office have said that given the hit and miss nature of the heavy rain and thunderstorms, many places will likely see little or no impact from the weather.

The Chief Forecaster said: “Torrential rain and thunderstorms could give as much as 30mm, possibly 40mm in an hour in places.

“Through Monday the rain and thunderstorms are expected to become confined more to the east of the warning area.

Lightning strikes are also possible, which bring a chance of disruption to power.

Temperatures across the Bath area are expected to remain around 20ºc.
