Thousands of local properties have been left without water this morning after an essential main burst in the early hours, Bristol Water have confirmed.
Homes in Longwell Green, Hanham, Keynsham, Willsbridge, Whitchurch and Stockwood have been affected by the significant main burst.
Bristol Water have said their teams are currently investigating the situation, but are not sure how long the works will take to rectify the problem.
A number of water bowsers have been sent to strategic locations, to provide a source of water to those affected.
They are located at:
- Waitrose in Keynsham;
- Car park on Ashton Way (BS31 2UF);
- Car park next to playing field (BS31 1RE)
The Bristol Water website crashed due to the massive demand from people heading online to find out why they don’t have any water.
In a statement, Bristol Water said: “Due to a burst water main in the Willsbridge area, customers in Whitchurch, Stockwood, Willsbridge, Longwell Green, Hanham and Keynsham might be experiencing no water.
“Our teams are currently investigating the situation, but we are not sure how long the works will take at the moment. We do apologise for the inconvenience this might cause.”
